Like many of his contemporaries, Iolo believed that the Welsh bards had inherited the learning and traditions of the Druids of the ancient world. Ossian (/ ˈ ɒ ʃ ən, ˈ ɒ s i ən /; Irish Gaelic/Scottish Gaelic: Oisean) is the narrator and purported author of a cycle of epic poems published by the Scottish poet James Macpherson from Macpherson claimed to have collected word-of-mouth material in Scottish Gaelic, said to be from ancient sources, and that the work was his translation of that material.

In ancient times the Bards were Lore and Lay of the Ancient Bards book keepers of tradition, of the memory of the tribe – they were the custodians of the sacredness of the Word. Although they probably represented the first level of training for an apprentice Druid, we should not make the mistake of thinking that a Bard was somehow in a lowly or inferior position.

The first part of the page contained background on the origin of druids in ancient Gaul and Britain, as well as their place in the Celtic society. The second part there is a list of articles on the mythical characters in Irish and Welsh literature.

The characters are not only about druids, but there are also articles about bards. 1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, 2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.

The Heather was the couch upon which reposed Scotia's ancient bards. Even the least lore-inclined bards will know at least half of these famed adventuring artists, performers, scribes, historians, ambassadors, and sages by name.

Enraged, the High King threw the rebellious bard in prison and destroyed all written copies of the verse. How I would love to lay hands on a copy of that verse.

Bards and wandering minstrels have long been staple characters in books set in medieval or imaginary lands, and more often than not, a small, hand-held, Celtic style harp is the instrument they play.

The quick-witted Morgan of Hed in Patricia McKillip's "Riddlemaster" books, for example, was one of the first (and remains one of the best) harp.Tyrion, Heir of Aenarion and the Defender of Ulthuan.

Prince Tyrion, known as the Heir of Aenarion, Dragon of Cothique, Champion of the Everqueen, and Defender of Ulthuan, is the greatest living High Elven warrior of this age. I'm currently having a blast with a non-conventional front-liner lore bard. Took magic initiate (sorcerer) for Mage Armor, Green-Flame Blade, and Chill magical secrets I took Armor of Agathys and Spirit Guardians.

Between the support spells and cutting words, I'm able to do quite a lot of work in the front while also putting out a lot of damage with Armor of Agathys and Spirit.
